I bought some new ink recently. It’s made by Waterman. That’s the same crowd that make the black ink I’ve been using for years. Black ink that splits unpredictably into slightly blue and brown when you really water it down, like THIS. Anyway, this new ink is blue. The box claims the colour is “Encre Bleu Mystère” or Mysterious Blue Ink. When you first put it down it looks ultramarine (a colour I don’t like) but then it sort of moves through cyan into a sort of turqouise when it dries. The scanner failed to capture the subtlety and the range of hue in the final image. It’s also not waterproof. Even when dry, a drop of water will sort of push its way through the ink to leave a white spot and the lines I drew with white pen turned very light green. Fun stuff, though. More to follow in a minute.
